Bihar State scheme for providing scholarships to deserving students of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes and Extremely Backward Classes studying in post matric class within the state and outside the Bihar state, Establishment and Committed Expenditure and Post Matric Scholarship Scheme under Centrally Sponsored Scheme is operated. Under this scheme, a scholarship is given to the candidates studying in a duly recognized college/ university/ Institute. Under this scheme, funds are provided by the State Government and the Central Government.

To ensure timely payment of scholarship amount to the scholars, the State Government/UT administrations are requested to avoid cash payment of scholarship amount to the students. They must instruct all concerned that scholarships should be paid to scholars through their accounts in post offices/banks. The States/UTs should follow DBT mode. The States/UTS should ensure approval of Scholarships through Aadhaar-bank accounts.

According to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, the Backward Classes and Most Backward Classes, Welfare Department, Government of Bihar and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Welfare Department, Government of Bihar issued from time to time following the parameters prescribed in this resolution. Maintenance allowances will be payable to the students based on the scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria for PMS Scholarship 2024

1. Candidate must be a permanent resident of Bihar state.
2. The student’s caste should be under backward class (BC) or extremely backward class (EBC).
3. Backward class (BC) and extremely backward class (EBC)candidates whose annual income of parent/ guardian, including own income, does not exceed Rs.3,00,000/- only, will be eligible for a scholarship under this scheme. The student should be studying post-admission courses in government institutions / recognized non-government institutions located within the state.

How To Apply Online For Bihar Post Matric Scholarship 2024

1. This Post Matric Scholarship portal is only open for BC, EBC SC, and ST Applicant residents of Bihar State.
2. This portal is currently open only for the Academic year 2024.
3. Applicants eligible as per the advertisement for the Post Matric Scholarship of the Education Department, Govt. of Bihar must apply.
4.  Applicants will get a scholarship only once for each academic year.
5.  Applicant only needs to apply once for one academic year; otherwise, their application will be rejected.
6. Applicant: Before applying, check your institution’s name in the registered list of institutions.
7.  The institution will be provisionally approved to enable the Applicant to apply. After physical verification by a duly constituted committee of Govt. of Bihar, payment will be released for the student.
8. Ensure that the Applicant’s bank account is active and is in the name of a student only.
9. Applicant applications for Post Matric Scholarship will be verified both by institution authorities and duly constituted committee of Govt. of Bihar.
10. Candidates can register to the portal by providing details such as Name, Aadhaar Number, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, email, etc.
11. After successful registration, the candidate’s User ID and Password will be sent to a registered mobile number.
12. The student must complete and submit the form after obtaining the User ID and PASSWORD login to the portal.
13. The following documents, valid for 2024, are essential for applying for the abovementioned post-matric scholarship application.
14. After completing the form, f, submit the application form on the portal and print a copy for future student reference ce. No Change is permissible after the candidate’s final submission of the form.
15. The concerned institution will duly verify the candidate’s application, and it will also be physically verified from institution records by a duly constituted committee of Govt. of Bihar. Only after due process laid down by the Bihar Post Matric Scholarship will it be released to the Student Bank Account through DBT [PFMS].
16. Applicant’s Annual Family Income from all sources should not be more than :
