How are students selected for the HSF Scholarship 2024?

HSF Scholarship Selection Process 2024 is straightforward. Successful students are selected based on academic achievement, personal strengths, leadership, and extracurricular accomplishment. HSF-certified authorities evaluate completed applications. Once they have been read, we begin our primary selection process. The candidate’s information regarding his/her intended school/major must be as up-to-date as possible before our selection process.

• January – The HSF Scholar Program 2024 application opens on January 1st and closes on February 15th.
• March – Final scholars are announced and must submit recommendations, transcripts, the SAR, and an essay.
• May/June – Applications given the highest scores by our readers will be provided as scholars. At this point, students will either be notified if they have received a monetary award (funded) or were waitlisted for an award (waitlisted). In both cases, students are eligible for HSF support services and conferences upon completing the verification process.*
• June to September – All students must submit their financial aid award letter.
• October to November – students must submit their enrollment verification form.
• Students who receive funding from October to December will be disbursed between October and December.

Students who are waitlisted for an award may not receive an initial award but will continue to be considered for an award if additional funding becomes available during the current award cycle. Students who do not receive an award will have access to all of the same services and resources that awarded HSF Scholars do, except the monetary award itself.

No. HSF focuses on helping as many Latino students attend college as possible. Hence, students may receive only one monetary award per academic year.

An HSF student who is waitlisted for a monetary award will not receive an initial monetary award but will continue to be considered for an award if additional funding becomes available during the current award cycle.

Students who are waitlisted for a monetary award will have access to all of the same HSF Scholar Support Services and resources that awarded HSF Scholars do, except the monetary award itself.

Scholars selected to receive a monetary award can lose their scholarship if the requested deadlines don’t submit their information. Therefore, scholars who are waitlisted for a monetary prize and have raised their documents promptly may be awarded a scholarship as funding becomes available.
